Description
Wheel Pose (Upward Facing Bow, Chakrasana) is a full arching backbend that recruits nearly every major muscle group. The arms and shoulders bear weight and straighten to lift the body, the back and gluteal muscles engage powerfully to create the deep arch, and the legs (quadriceps) push firmly into the ground. This vigorous engagement allows the front body to fully stretch – the chest opens widely, the hip flexors and abdomen lengthen, and even the wrists and shoulders gain flexibility under the load.
