Description
Low Lunge (Anjaneyasana, Mother of Hanuman, low crescent) stretches the hip flexors and quadriceps of the rear leg as the knee rests on the ground and the hips sink forward. The front legβs glutes and hamstrings engage to support the lunge, and the core muscles activate to lift the torso and arms upright. This creates a gentle backbend that also opens the chest and shoulders, while providing a stable, supported stretch for the psoas and groin of the back leg.
