Description
Crooked Monkey Pose (Vakra Hanumanasana) is a twisted low lunge variation that engages the legs and core for stability while introducing a spinal rotation. The front hip experiences a deep flexor and groin stretch and the back legβs quadriceps and hip flexors are lengthened as in a standard low lunge, but the added twist also stretches the oblique abdominal muscles and outer hip. Balance and strength are required in the thighs and glutes to keep the lunge steady as the torso rotates and opens the chest.
